Frequently asked questions
How do I log a new film roll?
From the Archive (home), start a new roll: choose your film stock, camera, and lens, set the number of frames, and give the roll a name if you like. While the roll is in Shooting, you can log exposures, notes, and meter readings frame by frame. Change status as the roll moves to the lab, sync, or scanned—your timeline stays in one place.
How does the Precision Meter work?
Open the Meter tab to use the in-app light meter: set film ISO (and optional options your workflow needs), read the suggested aperture and shutter, and adjust creatively. You can log a reading to a roll that is in Shooting so aperture, shutter, and context are saved with your session—helpful when you review or scan later.
Is my data safe in the cloud?
Data is sent over encrypted connections. What gets stored in the cloud depends on what you enable: optional connections (such as personal cloud providers you authorize) and Halide’s sync features for eligible subscriptions. You stay in control of linking accounts and initiating sync. See our Privacy Policy for details on what we process and how.
App version
This site describes Halide Pro. The current build version is shown in the app under Settings or your device’s app details. When you contact support, mentioning that version helps us reproduce issues quickly.
